Jurisdiction and conduct
Klyntji (hereafter referred to as “the Publication”) subscribes to the Code of Ethics and Conduct for South African Print and Online Media (the Press Code), in accordance with the jurisdiction of the South African Press Ombud (https://presscouncil.org.za/).
The Publication is bound by South African legislation as well as the transformative values of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996. The Publication fervently guards its editorial independence through the constitutional rights to freedom of expression and freedom of the press.
Fair dealing and copyright
No part of the Publication may be reproduced without prior written permission, unless legally so permissible.
No use of the Publication’s name, logo or likeness may be used without prior written permission. See this page for derivative and substantially similar forms of “Klyntji” of which usage is not allowed.
The Publication endeavours to obtain permission to reproduce the content on its platforms. However, certain content may be reproduced under the legal stipulations below.
Section 12 of the South African Copyright Act allows certain acts of reproduction to be done, without permission. “Fair Dealing” allows reproduction for the following purposes, inter alia:
Criticism or review (e.g. in an online magazine)
Reporting current events (e.g. in an online magazine)
Quotation (a fair portion)

You warrant your contribution to be your own original work and that you have the right to make it available for purposes specified above. You warrant it to not be defamatory nor to infringe on any law.
Donations and financial support
The Publication is dependent on patronage to support its workings. It may accept donations, enter into partnership with institution and entities, and receive payment. Sponsored content will be indicated as such.
Use of the Publication
You agree to use the Publication only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not unlawfully infringe on the rights of any person. The Publication will not be held liable for acts of third parties.
Accuracy and integrity
The Publication endeavours to uphold high journalistic standards and integrity. Any content that is deemed to be contrary to this may be reported.
